MOTHER'S DAY GIFT - story from the viewpoint of a 1 year old

Randy and I have so much fun with our grandchildren and over the years have collected quite a few fun stories.  This is one of our favorite and crazy fun experiences!  :D

"Momma,
I had a very trying day today with Gigi!  It started out great!  You KNOW how much I love sitting in Pops lap watching ballgames!  Well…..Gigi pulled me out of Pops comfortable lap and told me how much fun I was going to have making you a Mother’s Day gift. She carried me to the kitchen and stood me on a bar stool to look down at this white square she called a “canvas” – which sure didn’t look like fun to me!  But then I saw thick blue paint on a plate and THAT looked FUN

Here is where things became weird!!
She grabbed my left hand and started toward the blue paint.  It surprised me so much that I started kicking my legs and almost fell off the stool!  You know what? That didn’t slow her down one bit!  She put my hand straight into that blue paint.  It felt so awesome that I just had to look at it while she was trying to hold onto me and make my fingers close – they were far apart so I could see all that blue paint better!

I pulled my hand away from her to get a closer look and guess what?  The paint started running down my arm!  Wow!!  You should have heard Gigi yelling for Pops to HURRY and come help her!!  While she was yelling for him get the dish rag, all that blue paint on my hands and now running down my arm, started falling off!  Poor Pops couldn’t find the dish rag very quickly causing Gigi to yell louder – as if that was going to help!  He finally found it and came running!!  You know what else?  He can run as fast as those guys on TV!

Pops held onto me while Gigi grabbed my arm and start catching all the blue paint dripping off my hand and arm, which was about to fall onto the carpet.  When she started wiping my arm off, I had just about had enough of this fiasco and began complaining.  Did that stop her??  NO!!  She grabbed my hand again, and aimed for that white canvas.  Then the strangest thing happened – she insisted Pops close my fingers together – remember they were spread wide apart so I could see all that blue paint better.

Gigi pushed my hand down on that “canvas” and when she lifted my hand up, it just looked like another blob of blue paint on the “canvas” that matched what was on the plate.  At this point, I let them know I was through!!!  I heard Gigi say there was NO WAY she was going to grab my RIGHT hand and do it all over again!  Thank Goodness!!

It took Gigi about 30 minutes of going back and forth with a warm rag to get all that blue paint off me, Pops, and herself.  At least she let me stay in Pops comfortable lap while she cleaned all of us up – muttering to herself the whole time!  And then she started laughing and told Pop that the little bunny ears the blue paint was supposed to look like, actually looked like an antler!  And since she decided to not make the other ear with my right hand, it looked a little strange, she said.  She told me that was OK, though, because she wasn’t going to touch my other hand with a 10 foot pole!  She said she would fix it as best as she could, so I hope you like it.  I sure went through a lot of anxious moments and aggravation from Gigi getting this made for you.  But it was worth it, because you are a GREAT Momma!!  I love you!"  PS - Gigi took this picture BEFORE she made it look all better!
